Samsung SHG - I550 Review

When he posted? David Cheong On 9:26 PM
After reading Jason's review on the Samsung SGH-I550, I was a bit perplexed as to whether or not to provide an in depth review of my own because how different can the design, features and much other things be when both of us have the same phone?

That's right, no difference...

But hey, we're both 2 different individuals, we've got ideas of our own, our own point of views and heck I think I'll just go through with the in depth review.

*By the way, I have never done a review before so correct me if I'm wrong in any way*

The Samsung SGH-I550,

First thing that came into my mind was, classy.

The sleek design of the phone's exterior provides a classy feel with instead of the conventional 'oh, it just a phone' statement that most phones provide, this one screams out 'I've got more than you would ever expect'. However, the price do goes along with it's classy look. Retailing at RM1499, a hefty price but it does somehow suit it's classy look whereby my guess is that it is targeted for working class people.

My opinion, it does have the business man kind of luxurious look to it and it certainly does make me feel rich hehe

The candy bar design, the smooth exterior and the unique grip that slips into your hand provides an ergonomic feel that is just right. Sticking to the good old fashion design, this area is definitely a plus point. The shape, and the color of it makes it safe to say that most males in fact would opt for this phone rather than females.

With a screen at 2.6 inch and a dimension of 115 x 53 x 13.8, it packs more wallop than most other phones in the market. It is a wonder how they fit such a big screen on the phone and all I can say is kudos to the development team.

Equipped with a Wi-Fi capability installed as well as GPS, it allows mobility for users to surf the internet and also provide users a mobile mapping system however, this will be elaborated more in the near future as I test out the systems.

Other functions includes a 3.2 mega pixel camera, a USB port, a camera button as well as a volume control button which is all easily accessible.

You have the Micro SD slot on the left side as an addition to the 150mb internal memory whereby the Micro SD card is so small, it's as smaller than a 10 cent coin and it is easily available at any mobile phone stores and computer peripheral stores.

At the back we have the battery slot as well as the SIM card slot. Standard slots for all phones and the thin cover which also adds to the comforting handle of the phone.

All in all, I would say the phone is pretty much cool in design perspective as well as the placements of the buttons and features provided to consumers. Coming from me, it is quite a good compliment as I tend to be picky when it comes to phones and it is safe to say that this phone wowed me on first sight and it has never let me down since.

Although pretty much standard, a bit old schooled but that is just the way I like it.

bobbyt - lol to most people it is expensive and I for one, ain't really the type to spend so much on a phone unless it is seriously worth it.

thanks by the way for the support :)

jason - lol yeah, I'll be mentioning that in the camera review. I know, quite a hefty amount of review to be done, have to start off anyways sigh...
